In the Habit

This is the time of year when we reflect about and appreciate what we have in our lives. Why not make giving thanks a year-round habit? Here are some ways we can cultivate a thankful and grateful culture in the workplace.

Make it a point to regularly notice and reflect on positive things — big and small — that make your days better. For example: Someone made you laugh. You ran into an old friend. You finished a task that’s been on your mind.
Start a gratitude journal by jotting down the positives in your life can help build your sense of appreciation.
Share the upside by telling others about happy things in your life can help you get even more pleasure from them. And delight in other people’s good news too. Savoring someone else’s joys or successes can lift your spirits too.
Have family members share grateful moments around the dinner table. If you have children, you’ll be teaching them a valuable practice.
Say “thank you”. Has someone helped you in a meaningful way? Did you tell them what a difference they made? A special note or a kind word can be a great way to power up your gratitude.

I am thankful for the great group of hardworking, committed, and dedicated employees and contractors that come to work everyday to help make others lives better. I hope that in turn, makes your lives better.

A Personal Touch

In an age of notifications, automation, and less personal interactions, we need to take the time to thank those that have helped us throughout the year.

Help can be anything from kind words, to lending us a skill to make our projects better. These people leave an impact on our lives and help add to our success. We grow to depend on our team and they on us. Creating connection

With the year is nearing a close, it is important to contemplate on what we have accomplished, a time to weigh our successes and our failures, but most importantly to recognize those who have stood by us on this journey. Instead of sending a tweet, send a thank you note, written by hand, and signed, the way we used to before convenience made things less personal. Adding that touch of nostalgia to your professional connections will make you seem more endearing and memorable.

Anyone can quickly open an email, but everyone takes their time opening a letter.

The Choice of Gratitude

There are days it very easy to be thankful, and other days that it is a struggle to be thankful. Not every day

is going to be an easy day to choose to be thankful, but if you know your purpose in life and work then you choose to be thankful even on the hard days. We could choose to see providing dental care to patients with dementia as difficult since there are times they can no longer understand or follow verbal commands. Or we can choose to be thankful that we are able to provide a better quality of life to a generation that worked hard and has amazing stories to tell. There are days that providing care to patients with dementia has its challenges, but when our team knows the purpose behind why we provide dental care they can choose to be thankful even on the days that are a struggle. We choose to be thankful that we have the opportunity to provide dental care to our patients to help make them have confidence in their smiles again and give them back to the ability to enjoy eating the foods they love

My Reasons for Thanks

AnyPlaceMD Audiology/Hearing Aid Division has truly been up and running 90 days since I came on-board. I have so much to be thankful for, it is hard to know where to start! I would like to just list in not a certain order, because they are all so incredible, it’s hard to put an order!

Working with a Company that believe in Values, Ethics and not being afraid to say you are Christian to me is what the United States stands for. We respect all people and what they want to say…good or bad. (Our Freedom of speech stands strong.)

I LOVE our team of Leaders…Shane, Sean, Grace, Chris, John. There is not one of these individuals that has not helped me or supported me in my first 90 days. We all work so hard, but it is not work when we are working as a team together!
Our Vendor Partners have been truly amazing also…William Demant, Oticon, Kim Ringer, Bruce Essman; HD Impressions, YHN Consults, Audiometrics and Clear Captions! Vendor Partners behind us make things flow so much better!
I am MOST THANKFUL, for being able to HELP SENIORS all over Austin be able to hear meaningful conversations again with their FAMILIES and LOVED ONES over the upcoming Holiday Season!

A Service for Those Who Serve

As we approach the holiday season, DHMS remains proud of our men and women in uniform. We have a deep appreciation for what they will be experiences during this time. Some will be home with families, others will be deployed to far and away places protecting the rest us as we spend time with our families. Let us not forget the ones who fallen during the course of performing there duty to this great nation. Please say a prayer for them and there families,that they may find peace.

During this holiday season, please take the time to thank our nation’s protectors.

We would also like to remind our many valuable contractors of a few housekeeping items.

1. Remember you MUST have your personal auto insurance when driving a rental vehicle
2. When checking into a hotel, please provide your own credit card for incidentals. DHMS does not pay for incidental charges billed to your room.
3. Additional items are prohibited from being billed to DHMS. These items include and are not limited to the following: refueling charges, GPS devices, additional insurance, vehicle upgrades, late return fees, flight changes or upgrades.

Thank you for choosing to continue to support us as we work together to provide the best dental care possible to our service men and women. You are genuinely appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

The Culture of Gratitude

Displaying appreciation and gratitude towards employees can help positively influence company morale. During November, I challenge our contractors, clients, and vendors to create a culture of gratitude. Here are a few steps you can take to develop a culture of gratitude:

1. Always give a Heartfelt “Thank you” – DHMS would be lost without our contractors, employees, and clients, I want to thank you all for everything you do to help DHMS become a successful business. 2. Show your appreciation in different ways and to reinforce stellar performances – At DHMS we believe giving credit where credit can make a world of a difference. 3. Start being more open – honesty can help improve yourself and others. Glassdoor is one of the main sites to leave reviews, so please give us your feedback and tell us why you are thankful to work with DHMS. 4. Learn to accept thanks graciously. 5. Extend appreciation beyond those you work with. Family and Friends are essential parts of your life remember to remind them how important they are.

Mission of Mercy

While we often think of Thanksgiving as a time for families to gather and be thankful for the many blessings that they enjoy, many people use the season as a reminder that others are not as fortunate. Those of us who may have rewarding professional and/or personal lives can easily lose touch with other important aspects of life. Giving our time and resources to help those in need is always a good way to regain that perspective. Capital Dental Equipment and our

employees have been privileged to be able to participate in both the Corpus Christi and Dallas Texas Mission of Mercy Programs sponsored by the Texas Dental Association.

Capital Dental Equipment donated equipment and employee time to help volunteering professionals deliver much needed dental care to adults and children. CDE technicians gave up their weekends to deliver, install, and maintain panorex units for the duration of each program. The panorex allowed dentists to quickly diagnose conditions and evaluate treatment options.

We at CDE are grateful for the opportunities that we have to offer our services to very worthy causes. We can do this because our business is to provide quality refurbished digital radiography equipment at a great price. We’ve even expanded our ability to serve the dental community by adding a line of new, low cost, intra-oral sensors and cameras.

We are looking forward to the next opportunity to help the dental community deliver dental treatment to our community’s most needy.
